The last thing you expect in your mid-twenties is to be given a cancer diagnosis from the doctors. The best thing that can come from this is that you get closer to your loved ones, you beat the demons and you thrive at the end of it all. This is such a large part of Julie and Stephan’s story and through all the hard times, Julie stayed by Stephan’s side, helped him through the original diagnosis just a year after meeting, worked through the treatments and hours spent at the hospital with him and stronger they became. These days Stephan is cancer free (!!) and they continue their super active lifestyle of hiking or skiing most weekends, running ungodly amounts of miles through their city of Troy, and then enjoying some craft beers and decent nosh at the local restaurants. Most couples can’t yet so they’ve gone through something so trying, but I’d say these two and their families have a ton to celebrate and I can’t wait for their Lake Placid wedding this October!
