I’ve been thinking for 10 days now what I wanted to say about Melissa and Kevin and their stellar wedding week and words have been hard to find.
I started my week with them climbing Monument Mountain for a sunset adventure session. It was like hiking with two dear friends I had known forever. We continued on Friday evening with their Welcome Party at the Lakehouse Cottages of the Berkshires which entailed meeting and getting to know 100+ of their friends and family from ALL OVER the country, all four corners as someone had said (Portland, OR/Miami, FL/California/Maine), and hearing stories of their past from their closest friends and making me realize even further the wide and amazing impact these two have had on their surroundings.
Fast forward to Saturday as the perfect weather continued, friends played in the water while Melissa’s best friends did her hair and make-up overlooking the lake. Every single person had a small or large part in the day it seemed as everyone made sure every detail was perfect and the vendors were taken care of. Melissa and Kevin married under a Chuppah draped in Kippah’s from Melissa’s family, sewn together along with her Grandfather’s prayer shawl. They took their Yichud, or alone time, immediately following the ceremony by walking down to the lake and sharing letters they had written each other. They then came back to celebrate the night with human tunnels, laughter, stories, plentiful dancing and a dark, boat-lit exit onto Pontoosuc Lake back to the Lakehouse.
It could not have been a more perfect week helping celebrate Melissa and Kevin’s love and their biggest adventure yet.
