Straps, age 53
• From Waterloo, Ontario
• This is Straps` second attempt at the AT, having finished it with his wife the first time around. He started the trail with some other guys, but had to separate at one point, thus walking the last month or so mostly solo. He admits it`s different when you aren`t hiking with someone, maybe a different experience altogether. He`s mostly out here on the trail this time to prove (to himself and others) the first time wasn`t a fluke.

• From Philadelphia, PA
• Heike is hiking the trail during a transition between jobs, but within three days of starting the trail in Georgia, he went off trail to get knee braces for both knees. He wasn`t sure he`d be able to make it this far and admits to it being harder than he expected. If he had to choose between the mental or physical challenge being harder though, he notes the mental challenge of dealing with the physical pain has been tough. Hear hear to that.

I hope all my couples can run with the 🌧️ plan on a wedding day as well as Rich and Jade did this past weekend. It was 🌧️ and then ☀️⛅ and then 🌧️ and we were pivoting constantly. Great work team!
